Position Overview:

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing the flow of materials within the warehouse, ensuring that orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and supporting the overall operations of Continental Dairy Facilities Southwest LLC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and match blend orders with internal item identification and vendor numbers.
  • Transport materials from storage areas to designated locations, preparing staging areas for upcoming tasks.
  • Organize and arrange items on racks or in rows according to established sequences.
  • Lift and position product bags to ensure proper layout for blending processes.
  • Update inventory records by accurately counting and adjusting weights as necessary.
  • Verify ingredient accuracy, ensuring bag sizes correspond with documentation.
  • Communicate any material discrepancies to Quality Assurance and report quantity issues to inventory control.
  • Return unused ingredients to the warehouse after staging is complete.
  • Label ingredients and containers for each blending recipe.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork to confirm that ingredients are prepared for blending.
  • Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment for all personnel.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior experience in warehouse operations or batching is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and mathematical skills.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in task execution.
  • Effective communication and time management abilities.
  • Technical proficiency with standard warehouse equipment.

Work Environment:

This position involves regular contact with dry dairy products and may include exposure to airborne particles. The role requires the use of standard office equipment as well as warehouse machinery such as forklifts and hand trucks.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must be able to perform essential functions, which include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
