Job Title: Highway Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Highway Project Engineer to join our team at Erdman Anthony. As a key member of our transportation engineering group, you will be responsible for delivering complex engineering design tasks, project delivery, and collaborating with other design staff, managers, and mentors.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute assignments requiring a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and the application of these principles to the production of engineering work.
  • Develop plans and specifications for all aspects of highway design, including alignments, right-of-way, drainage, E&S, traffic control, and utility coordination.
  • Prepare designs in compliance with company design procedures, client standards, and code requirements.
  • Assist Project Manager with contract development, including technical scope of services and cost proposal derivation.
  • Proactively clarify directions on project design issues and proceed on projects with a clear understanding of time schedule and budget.
  • Complete tasks on or before scheduled time and within budget.
  • Attend and direct project team meetings.
  • Mentor younger staff.
  • Serve as Task Leader, monitoring budget and schedule compliance.
  • Maintain frequent communication with project team members to verify design requirements and identify problems that arise.
Requirements:
  • Candidates shall possess a BS or MS degree in civil engineering.
  • 6-10 years of progressive technical experience, diversified knowledge preferred.
  • Civil engineer with highway design and transportation engineering focus.
  • EIT certification required with the desire to obtain their PE in the future.
  • Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction industry.
  • PennDOT experience required.
  • Ability to take responsibility of technical work content.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
