Job Summary

The Salvation Army Central Territory is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Donation Coordinator/Driver. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our Food Pantry and Distribution efforts, ensuring that our community receives the essential resources they need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pick-up and Delivery of Donations: Safely transport donations from partner businesses to our Service Center, accurately recording totals and maintaining a clean and organized vehicle.
  • Food Pantry Operations: Assist with food bank deliveries, including ordering, receiving, and storing items, as well as coordinating and making deliveries to other pantries as requested.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the agency van, ensuring it is in good working condition and adhering to The Salvation Army's Fleet Safety Program.
  • Warehouse Management: Sort, stock, and rotate items in designated locations, ensuring oldest items are distributed first, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete daily paperwork, accurately record donations, and maintain effective working relationships with partner businesses and colleagues.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role or in a related field, such as customer service or logistics.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and organizational skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds, as well as stand, walk, balance, and stoop for extended periods.
Working Conditions

The work environment is both in and outside, with regular exposure to extreme cold and heat. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities is essential.
