Job Summary:
The Senior Database Developer / Administrator is primarily responsible for ensuring the availability and optimization of our production, development, and QA database environments. This role requires a strong understanding of SQL Server internals and the ability to analyze solutions, propose resolutions, and direct their implementation. The successful candidate will work with the team to provide technical expertise and guidance to multiple delivery teams in a DevOps environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure database availability and performance in all environments
  • Provide guidance on database code optimization and scalability
  • Implement enhancements and updates to ensure database technology is current
  • Troubleshoot problems in all environments as they arise
  • Optimize database and query performance
  • Remediate performance issues in the production environment

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field
  • 5-8 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and later
  • Experience with Agile software methodology and CI/CD tools
  • Advanced T-SQL programming and performance techniques
  • Experience with backup/recovery tasks and SQL Server installation
  • Strong understanding of database replication technologies
  • Software development or scripting experience
