Job Title: Senior Software Developer

Job Summary:
The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications for the Goldman School of Dental Medicine. This individual will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of applications and will be a contributor at all levels of the development life cycle, including project planning, technology resource assessment, cost & design reviews, programming, testing/debugging, documentation, training, follow-up support, and continual evaluation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, design, and architect applications for the Dental School.
  • Develop, integrate, and implement applications.
  • Meet with clients to gather requirements and perform needs assessments for new and existing software and integration projects.
  • Resolve escalated application support issues, conduct application performance and availability monitoring, and conduct reporting.
  • Assist the unit with continual review of best practices for collaborative software development projects.

Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred, and 3 to 5 total years of experience.
  • 1-3 years experience in Perl and Python development, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Source control experience (Git, TFS).
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to solve complex problems creatively and in a timely manner.
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, hands-on, and demonstrate ability to troubleshoot and multi-task.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA security is a plus.
  • Familiarity with working with FERPA data is a plus.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Apple script, C# web development is a plus.
  • Experience with IIS and Microsoft SQL Server administration is a plus.
