Accurately recording treatment charges and ensuring documentation aligns with billing information.

Producing clear and effective daily and progress notes.

Assists in managing patient charges and providing administrative support. This includes:

Completing daily productivity and activities logs accurately.

Supporting therapists with scheduling and patient service appointments.

Consistently embodies the facility's interdisciplinary approach to patient care. This includes:

Actively participating in patient care discussions.

Collaborating with facility staff on patient progress updates.

Educating team members in areas of expertise.

Working with the facility to promote documentation practices that benefit the therapy team.

Effectively communicating with discharge planners.

Incorporating feedback from patients and families into treatment sessions.

Utilizing continuing education resources to achieve targeted quality improvements.

Engaging with peers in local acute care settings, when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Understanding of Physical Therapy treatment methodologies.

Familiarity with the principles of physical modalities used in therapy.

Knowledge of prosthetic devices, mobility aids, assistive and resistive devices, and training.

Comprehension of medical terminology.

Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Education:

Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in geriatric rehabilitation.
  • Preferred experience in adult neurological, cardiac, and/or general rehabilitation.

Physical Requirements:

For Direct Patient Care:

Must be capable of lifting and transferring patients a minimum of 10 times daily.

Must be able to lift approximately 50-70 pounds at least 10 times per day.

Must demonstrate proficiency in repetitive grasping and fine motor skills.

Must be able to perform CPR, if necessary.

Will spend approximately 60-80% of time bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching while assisting patients.

Will spend approximately 60-80% of time walking or standing.

For Support Activities:

May spend approximately 10-20% of time seated at a desk or terminal entering data.

License/Certification/Registration:

Current Physical Therapist Assistant Registration/State Licensure as required.

Current CPR certification.
