Deputy Sheriff

Join the County of Los Angeles Sheriff's Department as a Deputy Sheriff and contribute to maintaining law and order in our community.

We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to fill the role of Deputy Sheriff. As a Deputy Sheriff, you will be responsible for enforcing laws, preventing and suppressing crime, and protecting the public. You will work closely with other law enforcement agencies and community members to build trust and ensure public safety.

• Enforce laws and regulations to maintain public order and safety
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence to solve crimes
• Provide security and support services at correctional facilities and courtrooms
• Patrol designated areas to prevent and respond to crimes
• Collaborate with community members and other law enforcement agencies to build trust and prevent crime

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must be a U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must possess a valid California class "C" driver license
• Must have two years of continuous peace officer experience and a Basic POST certificate

Deputy Sheriffs work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, often in high-stress situations. They must be able to work effectively in teams and make sound judgments in emergency situations. Deputy Sheriffs may be required to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
