Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MRI Technologist to join our team at Boston Children's Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing complex MRI procedures, reviewing requisitions, and evaluating patient data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures on a scheduled and emergency basis, utilizing advanced technical skills and knowledge of anatomy.
  • Review and evaluate requisitions for MRI imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed.
  • Identify patients according to hospital policy, using two identifiers to ensure accurate patient identification.
  • Select appropriate equipment and technical parameters to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status, developing a care plan to meet their specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and magnetic field environment.
  • Follow MR QC Exam/Data Integrity workflow expectations, practicing high reliability communication techniques.
  • Provide exceptional care and service, responding to the uniqueness of each patient and creating a supportive environment.
  • Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations, performing additional tasks as delegated by manager or Assistant/Chief Technologist.
Requirements
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist - MRI certification.
  • Associates degree in Allied Health.
  • Three years of experience working as an MRI Technologist.
