Job Overview

Position: Lab Technician

Location: Richardson, TX

Travel Requirement: None

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and connect coaxial and fiber optic cabling.
  • Conduct cable verification and mining operations during removal processes.
  • Prepare cabling for termination to various telecommunication hardware.
  • Execute basic wiring tasks by running and securing copper, fiber optic, and coaxial cables.
  • Assemble, erect, mount, and align standard Central Office and Datacenter equipment.
  • Mount and label a diverse range of telecommunication units, terminal blocks, and interconnect panels.
  • Perform intricate wiring operations.
  • Prepare, connect, and test coaxial and fiber optic cabling.
  • Interpret job specifications, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
  • Adhere to Network Equipment Installation and Quality Standards as dictated by client specifications.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors, Project Managers, and Engineering teams to address any discrepancies in orders and documentation.
  • Conduct basic installation testing, including power verification, hardware provisioning, system testing, continuity checks, Cat5/6 testing, and fiber optic loss testing.
  • Perform essential power operations, such as mounting relay racks or cabinet fuse panels and terminating power feeders.
  • Run and terminate local power leads from fuse panels to various units within a relay rack or cabinet.

This position is integral to ensuring the efficient operation of telecommunication systems and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
