Job Summary

Sutter Health is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing routine and specialized breast procedures to produce high-quality images for physicians and other healthcare providers.

Responsibilities
  • Competently perform mammographic examinations, exercising sound judgment and developed clinical skills to deliver accurate results in a timely manner.
  • Work independently, prioritizing assignments and working within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare providers to gain confidence and cooperation.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure patient safety and privacy.
  • May be responsible for orienting other staff to the department and performing specific procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist Program or equivalent education/experience.
  • CRT-Certified Radiologic Technologist upon hire.
  • RHM-Radiology Mammography upon hire.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider upon hire.
  • Typical experience: Level II - Less than 5 years of experience; Level III - 5+ years recent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge of diagnostic mammography principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
  • Ability to respond to traumas and various hospital emergencies.
  • Capable of performing routine mammographic examinations and possessing a basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally.
Working Conditions

This position may regularly work with hazardous or potentially hazardous drugs, as identified by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) for purposes of USP 800.

Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. The salary range for this role is $58.30 to $72.87 per hour, with a pay range of $59.48 to $74.34 per hour for Mammography Technologist III. Compensation takes into account various factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, and certifications.
