About the Role
HCA Florida Poinciana Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients and respond to emergent patient situations.
Requirements
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist
- Certification through the NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care)
- Completion of a two-year AMA-approved respiratory care program (Associates Degree or equivalent)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- Neonatal Resuscitation must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

We provide a full range of acute care services, including emergency services, inpatient and outpatient diagnostic imaging, and inpatient and outpatient surgery. Our Emergency Department (ED) is approximately 14,500 square feet, with 22 private treatment rooms, an EMS entrance, and a helicopter pad.
