Custodian Job Summary:

Execute fundamental cleaning tasks and specific custodial duties tailored to the unique needs of the client's operational sector.

Always maintain a safe and professional approach to work.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning operations in shared spaces, specialized environments (offices), and industrial settings.

Basic cleaning responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, emptying waste receptacles, sanitizing surfaces, and cleaning floors using walk-behind scrubbers or buffers.

Oversee the upkeep of custodial tools and materials.

This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning and preventive maintenance of equipment and managing the inventory of cleaning agents and consumables.

Engage in pre-task planning concerning safety protocols relevant to the job and the client's industry, and inform management of any repair needs, leaks, etc.

Address urgent cleaning incidents, such as mopping spills to prevent slip hazards.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma, G.E.D.

or EquivalentOne to three years of relevant experience and/or training. Must successfully pass a background check.

Proficient in reading and understanding instructions, including safety guidelines and procedural manuals.

Capable of composing routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate information in both individual and small group settings.

Must be adept at operating basic custodial machinery, such as vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, and floor buffing machines.
Physical Requirements: Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands for handling or feeling, and communicate verbally. Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: Involves exposure to cleaning chemicals. May encounter wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather, and extreme temperatures. Noise levels can vary from very quiet to very loud.

Personal protective equipment such as metatarsal boots, safety glasses, and hearing protection may be required in designated industrial areas.
