As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams in designing and analyzing complex drainage systems, stormwater management systems, and open channel conveyance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead teams in designing and analyzing TxDOT Roadway Drainage systems, stormwater drain systems, open channel conveyance, and culvert analysis.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models, evaluate results, and summarize results and recommendations to produce drainage impact studies, conveyance analysis, storage analysis, and other drainage improvements.
  • Cross-collaborate with Public Works/Water Resources Team on projects such as dam rehabilitations, storm sewer installations, and city water quality initiatives.
  • Provide technical input and review of project deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with public and private clients, including strategic teaming partners.
  • Identify business development and growth opportunities through new and existing markets and clients.
  • Recruit and develop staff with necessary skills to drive growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • At minimum, must be licensed in State of Texas as a Project Engineer (PE).
  • 5-10+ years of experience in TxDOT drainage, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design, or related surface water engineering.
  • Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling experience desired, including steady and unsteady modeling, 1D and 2D modeling (EPA SWMM) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with complex drainage, urban drainage, restoration, and reformation.
  • Proficiency in drafting software (Open Roads Designer, MicroStation) and drainage design software (ORD Subsurface Utilities and Drainage Analysis, Geopak Drainage) desired.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
  • Experience with TX DOT projects is desirable.
  • Prefer experience or knowledge in HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, XPSWMM 1D & 2D, ArcGIS or ArcPro, HEC-GeoRAS, HEC-GeoHMS, or ArcHydro, ESRI, HY-8.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
