The Position: Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Team Lead to oversee the day-to-day activities of our manufacturing and assembly personnel. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all activities are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This includes training employees, planning and assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Objectives: Communicate clear goals and expectations to team members, ensuring everyone is aligned and working towards a common objective.
  • Prepare the Production Floor: Ensure the production area is ready for daily operations, including setting up equipment and materials as needed.
  • Monitor Daily Production: Track and adjust production based on inventory levels, ensuring that we meet customer demands and maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Review Production Set-Ups: Verify that production set-ups meet accuracy and quality requirements, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards.
  • Troubleshoot Machines and Equipment: Assist in resolving technical issues with machines and equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring that production stays on track.
  • Support Manufacturing: Investigate the root cause of manufacturing defects and failures, and implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Train and Maintain Training: Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Report Issues and Problems: Communicate any issues or problems to the immediate supervisor, ensuring that we address and resolve them promptly.
  • Conduct Periodic Audits: Regularly review and audit our processes to ensure that they are efficient, effective, and compliant with company standards.
  • Perform Inventories: Conduct inventory checks as needed, ensuring that we have the necessary materials and supplies to meet customer demands.
  • Provide Training to Other Technicians: Share knowledge and expertise with other technicians, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Operate Production Machines: May operate various production machines and use hand tools to assemble products, ensuring that they meet quality standards.
  • Train Subordinate Employees: Train and develop subordinate employees on job skills and company policies and procedures, ensuring that they have the knowledge and skills needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Ensure Quality Standards: Verify that all products, materials, parts, and documentation meet company specifications and quality standards.
  • Report Defective Materials: Identify and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor, ensuring that we address and resolve them promptly.
  • Actively Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing continuous improvement efforts and projects, ensuring that we stay ahead of the competition and maintain our position as a leader in the industry.
  • Communicate with Supervisor: Regularly communicate with the supervisor regarding issues that may arise on the production line, ensuring that we address and resolve them promptly.
  • Maintain a Clean and Orderly Work Area: Ensure that the work area and equipment are maintained in a clean and orderly condition, following prescribed safety regulations.
  • Document Actions: Complete production and quality forms, documenting actions and ensuring that we track and measure our performance.
  • Contribute to Team Effort: Participate in team efforts, accomplishing related results as needed, and contributing to the overall success of the team.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required
  • English Language Skills: Required, Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • Ability to Train Personnel: Must have the ability to train personnel on all aspects of the production
  • PC and MS Office Skills: Must be proficient in PC usage and MS Office
  • Previous Experience in Assembly/Production: Preferred
  • Basic Math Skills: Must have basic math skills with general knowledge of how to read a tape measure
  • Physical Demands: Able to stand for at least 8 hours a day, lift up to 25 pounds, and team-lift up to 50+ pounds
  • Communication Skills: Must be able to read and write, communicate clearly with others, and understand written work direction
  • Reliability and Integrity: Must be honest, have a positive attitude, be respectful, dependable, and have a good attitude and a proven record of reliability
  • 5+ Years of General Work Experience: Required
