Job Summary

The YMCA of Southwest Florida is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Pilates Reformer Instructor to join our team. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and physically appropriate group exercise classes.

Key Responsibilities

• Act professionally and adhere to staff dress code.
• Arrive promptly for shifts and assist with facility preparation as needed.
• Follow established class formats and ensure classes are safe and industry-standard.
• Use family-friendly music and maintain participant supervision throughout classes.
• Become familiar with class participants, their health concerns, and physical limitations.
• Direct maintenance concerns to the Executive/Wellness/Program Director and ensure proper equipment usage.
• Ensure participants wear appropriate footwear and maintain a clean environment.
• Find substitutes for missed shifts and communicate with supervisors in a timely manner.
• Attend regular staff meetings and utilize time clocks accurately.
• Uphold staff safety requirements, cleaning protocols, and other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Meet State of Florida Criminal History Background Check requirements and adhere to Association policies on background screening.
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Avoid diagnosing injuries, offering medical advice, or endorsing commercial health products.
• Exhibit high energy, a positive attitude, and self-motivation.
• Adhere to the drug/alcohol/smoke-free workplace policy and participate in YMCA-sponsored events.
• Perform team assignments for the Annual Partner with Youth campaign.

Certifications and Training Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Hold CPR/First Aid/AED certifications and maintain fitness certifications.
• Complete YMCA's Blood Borne Pathogens training and Child Sexual Abuse Prevention Class annually.
• Possess one year or more of experience in the fitness industry.
• Complete additional training classes as recommended by the supervisor.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
