Position Overview: The Automotive Sales Consultant plays a crucial role in the sales process of new Chevrolet and Mitsubishi vehicles, as well as pre-owned automobiles, while adhering to established gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction benchmarks. A professional demeanor and strong communication abilities are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess each customer's automotive requirements by engaging in meaningful dialogue and attentive listening.
  • Showcase vehicles through demonstrations, including mandatory test drives.
  • Effectively introduce new clients to the Service department and relevant personnel.
  • Facilitate the delivery of new vehicles, ensuring customers comprehend the vehicle's features, warranty, and maintenance schedule, fostering customer loyalty.
  • Implement a follow-up system to encourage repeat business and referrals, enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Utilize the provided Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to meet communication expectations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Stay updated on new products, features, and accessories, along with their advantages for customers.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Manager to review monthly goals, weekly activities, and daily plans.
  • Grasp automotive terminology and technological advancements to effectively communicate with customers.
  • Promptly report any vehicle lot damage or issues to the Sales Manager.
  • Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations governing retail automobile sales.
  • Complete all required training as directed by management.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: No prior experience required.

Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet sales quotas as per facility standards. Proficient in personal computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software. Must possess a valid driver's license and state sales license.

Work Environment:

The work environment may be occasionally noisy. The role may require lifting materials weighing up to 20 pounds. There may be exposure to battery acid, gasoline, cleaning chemicals, and other substances typically found in an automotive dealership. Occasional exposure to exhaust fumes or airborne particles may also occur.
