Senior Accountant Job Description

Banyan Search is conducting a search for a Senior Accountant to join an exceptional client due to organizational growth. Our client offers a range of benefits, and this role will play a key part of the Financial Reporting team in this growing organization with consistent exposure to management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare and review financial statements to ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Financial Close: Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Journal Entries and General Ledger Analysis: Prepare journal entries and analyze general ledger accounts to identify trends and variances.
  • Variance Analysis: Perform variance analysis to understand financial results and provide analytics as needed.
  • Business Partner Collaboration: Work with various business partners to understand financial results and provide information as required.
  • Ad Hoc Financial Analysis: Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required.
  • Process Improvement: Lead process improvements to streamline workflow and improve accuracy of information.
  • Accounting Policies and Procedures: Develop accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Auditor Support: Provide information to internal and external auditors and ensure internal controls are maintained.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Experience: 3+ years of accounting-related experience, with at least 2 years in public accounting.
  • CPA Certification: CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • ERP System Experience: Experience with large ERP systems.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Internal Controls: High amount of organization and experience with internal controls framework and monitoring.

This is a hybrid position, and all candidates must reside within driving distance to Winston-Salem, NC, as in-office work will be required 1-2 times/week. Please apply directly to this posting.
