Job Summary:
First World Mortgage is seeking an experienced mortgage underwriter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in the mortgage industry, with 3 of the most recent years as an underwriter for forward mortgage loans. The candidate will possess knowledge of DU and LP, as well as the ability to evaluate feedback.

Key Responsibilities:
Underwrite first mortgage loans to agency and insurer compliance
Review conditions on loans within required timeframes to move loans to closing
Regularly exercise knowledge and independent judgment to propose restructuring alternatives on loans where applicable
Submit loans for mortgage insurance approval
Pre-flight credit and income at the request of sales force and/or manager
Review appraisals to ensure adequate collateral

Requirements:
5+ years of experience in the mortgage industry
3+ years of experience as an underwriter for forward mortgage loans
FHA Direct Endorsement required
Knowledge of DU and LP
Ability to evaluate feedback
Proficiency with Encompass desired
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and redirect efforts as needed
