Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled HR Generalist to join our team at Smurfit Westrock. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing employee relations, employee communications, and recruitment for our site(s). This is a dynamic role that requires strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a passion for HR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Human Resources Manager to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Manage employee relations, including investigating complaints, resolving conflicts, and providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, including developing job announcements, conducting interviews, and selecting candidates.
  • Develop and maintain HR files, including employee records, benefits information, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist with the implementation of corporate HR initiatives, including training programs and policy updates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in HR, preferably in a generalist role.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment law.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including negotiation, persuasion, and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
