Job Summary and Qualifications:
We are looking for a Pediatric Services Nurse to join our team and ensure high-quality, efficient care for all patients. As a Pediatric Registered Nurse, you will deliver exceptional care to patients in our Pediatric Care Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit while providing emotional support and education to their families. Our team is committed to supporting one another, and we seek a nurse who shares our dedication to meaningful patient care.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver evidence-based, family-centered care to patients aged birth to 18 years in the Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
- Provide life-sustaining care for critically ill pediatric patients.
- Evaluate and document patient responses to interventions and respond promptly to changes in their condition.
- Administer medications safely, with a thorough understanding of emergency medications.
- Collaborate with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans.
- Educate families on treatment plans and at-home care procedures.
- Perform general nursing duties in a medical/surgical observation unit for pediatric patients.
- Address psychosocial needs of patients and families, coordinating with social services as needed.
- Maintain professionalism and composure, especially in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course certification within 1 year of employment.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 90 days of employment.
- Registered Nurse license.
- Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Experience as a Registered Nurse with a passion for pediatric care.
