Position Overview

The Beverage Service Specialist is tasked with delivering exceptional service for all types of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. This role requires a friendly demeanor, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Consistent attendance and availability for scheduled events are essential.

This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $10 to $12, in addition to tips.

For part-time roles: Benefits include a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Furthermore, OVG grants part-time, seasonal, and internship employees one hour of accrued paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

NOTE: This is an evergreen role; applications are accepted continuously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with state, federal, and corporate regulations regarding the service of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated patrons.
  • Follow pre-shift bar notes and menus to provide service as specified.
  • Process drink orders; mix, garnish, and serve beverages according to standard recipes while practicing prudent portion control.
  • Set up assigned bar areas; requisition and stock all necessary supplies including beer, wine, spirits, and other essentials.
  • Maintain stock levels and prepare fresh garnishes, juices, and other perishables to ensure quality.
  • Welcome guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Recognize signs of guest inebriation and respond appropriately, escalating issues to management or security as necessary.
  • Secure and store all beverage products and equipment, completing all closing duties at the end of the shift.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks to maintain health and safety standards; keep work areas organized and tidy.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of six months experience in bartending within a high-volume setting.
  • Proficient in handling cash and processing transactions through a POS system.
  • Ability to meet company standards for guest service, interaction with colleagues, and adherence to uniform guidelines.
  • Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with various types of beer, wine, and spirits is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while being part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Completion of bartending school is preferred.
