About the Role
The University of Cincinnati is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director of Advisor Engagement and Retention. This key leadership position plays a critical role in shaping the university's advising strategy and promoting a culture of excellence in academic advising.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive advisor engagement and retention strategy that aligns with the university's strategic direction.
- Provide leadership and oversight to advising units and campus partners to ensure effective implementation of the strategy.
- Advisor Development and Support
- Design and deliver training and development programs to enhance advisor skills and knowledge.
- Provide guidance and support to advisors to promote best practices in advising and retention.
- Program Development and Evaluation
- Develop and implement programs to enhance advisor engagement and retention, including exit, stay, and culture surveys.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Build and maintain strong relationships with advising units, campus partners, and national professional associations.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to promote the university's advising strategy and initiatives.
Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Experience
- Five years of experience as an academic advisor, career counselor, or related function.
- Additional Qualifications
- Two years of supervision experience.
- Knowledge and/or experience in assessment and evaluation, project management, or training and development.
