Job Title: Maintenance Engineer/Specialist

PolyOne is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer/Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing electrical and mechanical expertise to support the plant's maintenance and engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement programs, procedures, and practices to promote a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
  • Participate in safety, health, and environmental continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure the safe performance of all maintenance and project work.
  • Provide direction to the maintenance team in support of plant objectives.
  • Provide advisory support to the plant-engineering group.
  • Maintain plant engineering standards and compliance.
  • Develop systems and tools to improve understanding of maintenance costs and utility measures.
  • Set standards for reliability and continuous improvement of equipment.
  • Oversee the daily operation of utilities systems for the site.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Manage engineering stores functions to support plant needs.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Develop and implement weekly work schedules for routine and corrective/breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Oversee instrumentation and electrical (I & E) maintenance work.
  • Understand and comply with contractual agreements with other site companies.
  • Implement and maintain CMMS (Limble) system.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate equipment PM's and calibrations.
  • Analyze instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical maintenance work and resolve repetitive problems.
  • Recommend new equipment and/or preventative techniques to improve reliability.
  • Provide PLC (program logic controls) installation, programming, and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Develop and implement a plan to upgrade the knowledge and skill set of the maintenance craftsmen.
  • Manage capital projects.
  • Manage and approve work performed by outside contractors.
  • Manage maintenance and capital budget.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable code and regulatory requirements.
Physical and Environmental Demands:

This role requires the ability to stand for long periods, use hands to handle and feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, electrical, and mechanical maintenance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leadership and management.
