US Water Services Corporation is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing construction, maintenance, and repair work on water and wastewater utility system equipment and company facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the investigation of utility systems and troubleshoot and correct electrical, mechanical, and piping problems as experience and training allow.
- Respond to maintenance schedules for equipment and vehicles, ensuring proper maintenance duties are performed.
- Assist with the proper maintenance of equipment at plant, collection, or distribution facilities, including driving a company vehicle and maintaining its appearance, maintenance, and organization.
- Work with other maintenance employees to coordinate the efficient use of allocated labor and supplies for day-to-day requirements.
- Responsible for keeping maintenance records up-to-date, including work orders and related forms.
- May assist in other duties such as reading meters, cleaning and clearing activities, painting, project punch-out, loading and unloading materials.
- Act as a trainee in the operation of heavy equipment, such as backhoes, excavators, tractors, etc.
- Perform lift station inspections, including cleaning, setting level controls, cleaning wet well walls, documenting hour meter readings, and calculating run times.
- Manhole inspections, including completing reports on each manhole and meeting minimum quantities required.
- Fire hydrant maintenance, including flushing, greasing, painting, and completing reports on each hydrant and meeting minimum quantities required.
The successful candidate must possess mobility to work in wastewater treatment plants and related facilities, strength, stamina, and mobility to perform medium to heavy physical work, and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen.
Environmental ElementsEmployees work mainly outdoors and partially indoors, exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, mechanical and/or electrical hazards, and hazardous physical substances and fumes.
Minimum Requirements- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Motor Vehicle Operator License (Drivers License)
- Ability to demonstrate a level of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing aptitude
- Class A CDL with tanker endorsement
- Water Distribution License
- Expert in performing mechanical, electrical, and/or plumbing abilities
