Job Title: Electrical Trades Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Trades Specialist to join our team at the Rochester Psychiatric Center. As an Electrical Trades Specialist, you will be responsible for performing electrical work, including planning and laying out work, diagnosing trouble in electrical systems or equipment, and installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform journeyman level electrical duties, including repairs, maintenance, and installations of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Work with a wide variety of control equipment, including building heating, air conditioning, and ventilating equipment controls, and perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment.
  • Plan and lay out work, develop time and material lists for projects assigned, and read and interpret plans, codes, diagrams, architectural blueprints, and specifications.
  • Train and supervise others, and have the ability to climb ladders, work from scaffolding, and use mechanical lifts.
Requirements:
  • Four years of full-time experience in the electrical trade under a skilled tradesperson, or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in the electrical trade at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services.
  • Successful completion of the two-year Trades Specialist (Electrician) traineeship or a two-year electrician training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program.
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the electrical trade, and the ability to use the tools, machines, equipment, and material of the craft or crafts to which assigned.
