We are seeking a highly skilled Research Technologist 2 to join our team at Northwestern University. This role requires a strong background in laboratory techniques, including molecular biology, histology, and animal handling.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, set up, and conduct basic experiments following established protocols.
- Analyze and troubleshoot data obtained from individual experiments and recommend alternatives and suggestions to improve processes, validity, and accuracy.
- Complete mathematical calculations and computer tasks as required.
- Follow Good Clinical and Good Laboratory Practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific major or related field.
- Demonstrated laboratory experience and ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and basic computations.
- Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of mass spectrometry equipment, particularly LCMS and FT-ICR.
- Knowledge of MALDI-Imaging Mass Spectrometry.
