About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Construction Materials Specialist to join our team in Raleigh, North Carolina. As an entry-level Construction Materials Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of construction projects by assessing and verifying the properties and quality of materials used in construction.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct testing and observe special inspections of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, and other relevant materials, to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Reviewing construction plans and specifications: Ensure alignment with project objectives before field observations.
  • Documenting and managing field activities: Record detailed observations and testing results during project execution, utilizing management systems for efficient data management and coordination.
  • Report and proposal preparation: Assist in drafting reports and proposals for small projects, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy in assessments and documentation.
  • Maintaining daily communication: Engage with management, contractors, and clients to ensure project transparency and provide regular progress updates.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, or a similar engineering field
  • 0-2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt
  • An Engineer in Training (EIT) license or on track to obtain
  • Basic math and communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
