Position Overview: The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in fostering a supportive and efficient environment for patients at our on-site clinics. This position collaborates closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians and nurse practitioners, to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring they are informed about available services.
  • Facilitate the patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
  • Manage front desk operations in the absence of the front office assistant.
  • Coordinate scheduling of clinic appointments, including rescheduling as necessary.
  • Handle clinic communications, including phone calls, emails, and walk-in inquiries.
  • Guide patients in accessing employer benefit programs.
  • Execute provider orders in compliance with state regulations.
  • Conduct clinical intake procedures, including vital signs and patient history documentation.
  • Assist patients with mobility, specimen collection, and preparation for examinations.
  • Optimize patient flow and enhance the overall patient experience through effective prioritization and multitasking.
  • Complete daily patient referrals and follow-up calls as required.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) and paper formats.
  • Participate in worksite events and health screenings as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a medical assistant training program or a minimum of one year of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Basic Life Support Certification is required.
  • State-specific certification maintenance as required.
  • Compliance with all state laws and regulations applicable to the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of direct patient care experience in a clinical environment.
  • Experience with clinical intake, laboratory specimen collection, and EKG testing.
  • Familiarity with federal and state healthcare regulations, including OSHA and HIPAA.
  • Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems.
