About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Aide to join our team at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. As a Surgical Aide, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our surgical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation of AORN Standards of Care and Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa and Operating Room Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric surgical patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
  • Help maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist with cleaning of operating rooms, positioning of patients, transportation of patients, and replenishment of supplies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma required.
  • Basic Life Support training (can be trained on-site for BLS).
  • Successful completion of a formal Nurse Aid course/training (verified through transcript or original program certificate of completion) or currently enrolled in a Scrub Technologist program or an A.D.N., B.S.N., program with successful completion of the first semester of A.D.N. program, or first year completion of nursing courses in BSN, or graduate of an A.D.N., Diploma, B.S.N., or LPN program.
