Perinatal Safety Nurse

About the RoleThis is a regular full-time position, working days in the Family Birth Center. The Perinatal Safety Nurse (PSN) plays a crucial role in facilitating adherence to national physician and nursing perinatal clinical standards. You will provide formal and informal perinatal safety education, facilitate goal setting, and ensure data collection is complete.
Responsibilities- Foster interprofessional collaboration to improve patient outcomes
- Actively participate in departmental safety decisions, OB safety committee meetings, OB Medical staff meetings, and related committees
- Partner with Risk Management regarding perinatal safety issues identified, adverse events, and perinatal safety initiatives
The PSN will have a primary focus on activities in the OB ED/Triage, Antepartum, High Risk, Labor and Delivery, and Post Partum/Maternity areas. This position may require flexibility of hours.
Requirements- Masters Degree in Nursing
- A minimum of seven years of work experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery, required
- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
- Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) issued by American Academy of Pediatrics
As a Perinatal PSN, you will possess advanced fetal heart monitoring certification and AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring Instructor within 12 months of hire.
