Job OverviewA DAY IN THE ROLE:
  • Employ a handheld device to identify stock, compile customer orders from inventory, and move orders to packing areas or storage locations.
  • Verify order accuracy and prepare shipments using scanning technology.
  • Package orders efficiently to optimize space and materials.
  • Accurately determine package weights, generate invoices, and manage shipping processes using appropriate tools.
  • Engage in regular inventory counts.
  • Count or weigh items for distribution to ensure compliance with company standards. Organize materials on shelves or in bins according to established criteria such as size, type, or product code.
  • Restock assigned areas from inventory locations.
  • Achieve and sustain required accuracy and productivity levels.
  • Prepare delivery vehicles for routes and maintain their cleanliness.
  • May operate vehicles to transfer items between facilities or gather items for shipment.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the distribution center, including dusting and sweeping.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Effective communication skills in speaking, listening, and writing.
  • Able to collaborate with a team and work independently.
  • Keep management informed about departmental activities.
  • Proficient in using computers and relevant software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in task execution.
  • Open to feedback and adaptable to change.
  • Proper use of equipment and materials.
  • Commitment to safe work practices with a focus on customer service.
