About the Position

The Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Protection Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Protection Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the environmental sustainability of our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement environmental control programs and policies to protect natural resources and prevent pollution.
  • Interpret and apply environmental laws, regulations, and legislation to ensure compliance and minimize environmental impact.
  • Conduct environmental audits, research, and analysis to identify areas of potential impact and develop solutions.
  • Represent the organization in meetings with regulatory agencies, community groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and present technical information on environmental issues to various audiences.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • One year of specialized experience in environmental protection programs, including administrative or program work relating to environmental protection, pollution prevention, and compliance.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting technical information on environmental issues to various audiences.
  • Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and legislation, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
  • Ability to analyze data and develop solutions to environmental problems.
Preferred Qualifications

Two years or more of environmental field experience is preferred for all grades.

Education

A Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position is required.

This is a Construction, Engineering, Infrastructure Career Field position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.
