Position Overview
This role is situated within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Part-time position, requiring 8 hours every two weeks, with flexible working hours available during weekdays. Responsibilities will encompass outpatient care across various facilities.

Role Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for conducting assessments and implementing therapeutic interventions in accordance with the ethical standards set forth by the American Speech Language Hearing Association, and upon physician referral for outpatient services. Patient demographics may include individuals across all age ranges: pediatric (infants to 12 years), adolescent (13 to 17 years), adult (18 to 64 years), and geriatric (65 years and older).

Key Responsibilities: Qualified candidates must demonstrate the capability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to fulfill the following tasks:
  • Assess patient histories and functional levels to establish accurate diagnoses.
  • Communicate evaluation results effectively to patients, families, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Formulate tailored treatment objectives and provide guidance to patients, families, and physicians regarding therapeutic plans.
  • Execute therapy programs while maintaining precise documentation and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team throughout the treatment process, including family meetings, home programming, and patient education.
  • Adhere to all billing and reimbursement protocols.
  • Engage in the development and execution of the Quality Assurance plan related to Speech Services.
  • Oversee clinical practicum experiences for graduate Speech Pathology students as assigned.
  • Contribute to the establishment of departmental objectives, policies, and procedures in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Assist in budget planning in accordance with departmental targets.
  • Serve as a consultant for colleagues and external agencies, participating in staff development initiatives.
  • Attend and document participation in mandatory and voluntary training sessions, seeking opportunities for professional advancement through conferences or seminars.
  • Achieve objectives set during performance evaluations and biannual reviews with the Team Leader.
Additional Responsibilities: The following tasks are considered supplementary to the primary responsibilities listed above:
  • Perform basic maintenance and supply management tasks.
  • Assist in the transportation and direction of patients.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology is essential. Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech-Hearing Association and licensure from the relevant state authority are required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must obtain Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology and licensure within one year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience working with both adult and pediatric populations is preferred.
  • Experience with videofluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS) is advantageous.
