Nursing Educator

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nursing Tutor to join our team at West Coast University. As a key member of our student-centered community, you will play a vital role in guiding nursing students to achieve their academic goals and succeed in their careers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Student Learning: Provide individualized support to nursing students through workshops, remediation sessions, group tutorials, and one-on-one meetings to improve course performance.
- Integrate ATI Tools: Ensure seamless integration of ATI tools and resources in all student meetings to enhance remediation and concept understanding.
- Develop Strategies: Create methods to integrate strategies that increase test-taking skills, study skills, and note-taking skills to improve course performance.
- Collaborate with Faculty: Work closely with faculty to identify course weaknesses and develop innovative initiatives to address them.
- Identify Students at Risk: Collaborate with faculty to identify students at risk for persistence issues and develop action plans to address their needs.
- Track Progress: Identify students at risk through data tracking platforms and develop interventions to address identified challenges to core course success and persistence.
- Evaluate Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of course-specific persistence strategies and progress in meeting mutually established objectives with students.
- Professional Development: Participate in professional development and organizations to maintain an understanding of current ideas, research, and practices, and attend meetings, workshops, and seminars to enrich personal growth, knowledge, and skill in student learning and persistence.
- Data Analysis: Evaluate data such as proctored assessments, time in tutorial sessions, and pre/post tests on comprehensive predictors to advise the Manager of Persistence and Outcomes, Nursing.
Requirements:
- Education: Master's degree in nursing, education, or administration required.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of two years as a Registered Nurse providing direct patient care or equivalent and/or education.
- Professional Nurse Licensure: Required.
