Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Department Supervisor to join our team at Marshalls. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a positive internal and external customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers.
  • Promote a culture of honesty and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and upholding our company values.
  • Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded to maintain a well-organized store environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor.
  • Monitor productivity of the team and coach as necessary to ensure tasks and activities are completed according to store plan.
  • Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards to create an engaging shopping experience.
  • Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs to minimize our environmental impact.
  • Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, providing progress updates to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback to foster a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness and drive business results.
  • Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures to maintain a compliant and safe work environment.
  • Promote credit and loyalty programs to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs to minimize losses and drive business results.
  • Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment to ensure the well-being of Associates and customers.
Requirements
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
  • Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
  • Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to train others and provide guidance and support.
  • 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience.
