As a Sheet Metal Technician I, your primary responsibility will be to conduct internal and external repairs and modifications on aircraft serviced at our facility. You will utilize blueprints, engineering orders, service bulletins, and other technical documentation to research and develop effective repair strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform structural repairs on aircraft using appropriate sheet metal techniques and fasteners, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Install Service Bulletin kits, utilizing parts and instructions provided by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM).
  • Plan and develop repair schemes by interpreting blueprints, sketches, and technical publications.
  • Employ precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers to execute repairs and modifications accurately.
  • Set up and operate sheet metal machinery, including power brakes and saws, to fabricate components as needed.
  • Construct jigs, dollies, and specialized tools to facilitate repairs.
  • Document all work performed clearly and accurately, ensuring compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in civilian or military aircraft sheet metal work.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools, including precision measurement instruments.
  • Experience operating sheet metal machinery to fabricate complex components.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and customers.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Preferred Skills:

  • Training in sheet metal work, whether through military service or technical education.
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude.
