The Cloud Solutions Architect will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and migrating systems across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud services to ensure the best fit for organizational needs while evaluating emerging technologies for integration into existing infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert architectural guidance and support to IT engineers, Data Engineers, and Software Developers.
  • Develop strategic roadmaps for IT cloud infrastructure investments, focusing on cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, development, and security teams to implement optimal cloud solutions.
  • Oversee the administration of cloud platforms, specifically GCP and Azure.
  • Analyze IT/cloud service demands to inform capacity planning and usage optimization.
  • Document and recommend financial operations related to IT/cloud infrastructure, emphasizing cost reduction strategies.
  • Establish disaster recovery protocols in alignment with the company's business continuity plans.
  • Promote the reuse of shared assets and solution architectures.
  • Ensure compliance with architectural standards and guidelines through policies and automated testing.
  • Conduct performance testing of cloud infrastructure and systems, providing insights for enhancements.
  • Work with the Enterprise Architect to document and deepen understanding of the existing IT cloud architecture.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and mentorship for junior team members.
  • Champion the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices across cloud operations.
Essential Qualifications

Competencies: Collaboration, Relationship Building, Communication, Accountability, Planning, Consulting, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Dependability.

Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud architectural patterns and practices.
  • Experience with GCP or equivalent public cloud technologies, including deployment and automation.
  • Familiarity with key cloud products such as Networking, Compute, Data, Configuration Management, and Security.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and security best practices.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools and Agile methodologies.
Experience Requirements
  • 8+ years in IT roles.
  • 4+ years in deploying solutions to GCP or similar platforms.
  • 2+ years in an architectural capacity.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP administration.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
Preferred Education:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Certifications:
  • GCP Professional Cloud Architect.
