Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our Electrical Wiring Systems Division at Legrand North America. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing production support through tool and die making activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate a range of tools, including tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, metal machine parts, die parts, roll form tools, punches, form tools, cams, and special tools.
  • Perform precision grinding, boring, or polishing of special tools and dies.
  • Assemble manufactured parts into working production machines or machine subassemblies.
  • Use engineering blueprints and specifications, as well as verbal instruction, to produce and assemble dies, machines, jigs, and components.
  • Set up and operate all applicable machine tools and machinist's hand tools.
  • Diagnose and repair production equipment and tools.
  • Make own setups on CNC equipment, including programming by CAD-based or machine code programs.
  • Perform Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) schedules and assignments as required for the tools and machines used in the performance of this function.
  • Maintain all materials, tools, and equipment in good repair and maintain an orderly condition of the work area consistent with 5C practices and the Wiremold Production System.
  • Record information required for analysis and decision making, including equipment performance, quality, and productivity.
  • Comply with all OSHA and Company safety procedures and work in a safe manner to ensure both personal safety and safety to others.
  • Perform all assignments with attention to quality standards of workmanship.
  • Report current or potential problems or malfunctions that may affect assignment or operation of equipment.
  • May train others in repair and safe operation of equipment.
  • Perform other work as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Must know how to use all applicable tools and measuring devices to perform the work.
  • Must maintain current licensing or certification required for the performance of assigned tasks.
  • Must know and follow all applicable OSHA and Company safety policies, practices, and procedures.
Physical Demands
  • Bending body downward/forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee(s).
  • Bending the body downward/forward by bending leg/spine.
