Position Overview for Charge RN - Stepdown Full Time Days:

The Clinical Lead serves as a registered nurse who supports the nurse manager/director in overseeing patient care, unit operations, and staff performance during assigned shifts. This role integrates nursing knowledge and professional standards into daily practice, ensuring effective patient assignments and interventions based on individual needs. The Clinical Lead manages both clinical and non-clinical activities in the absence of the unit manager/director, ensuring seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and prioritize patient care and unit requirements during assigned shifts.
  • Act as the representative for unit matters in the absence of the nurse manager/director.
  • Delegate tasks and make patient assignments to ensure comprehensive care and unit efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate staffing needs based on patient volume and acuity.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills in daily interactions with team members.
  • Proactively seek improvements in service quality and patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a role model for exceptional customer service and facilitate service recovery efforts.
  • Support the professional development of staff through mentorship and training.
  • Address immediate issues that arise, keeping the nurse manager/director informed.
  • Participate in committees or task forces as assigned.
  • Reinforce the vision, mission, and values of Carondelet St. Marys Hospital through exemplary behavior.

Qualifications for Charge RN - Stepdown Full Time Days:

Education:
Required: Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
Preferred: BSN is preferred but not mandatory.

Licensure:
Required: Valid Arizona Nursing License.

Certificates:
Required: Certification in area of clinical specialty within 3 years from an accredited entity.

Experience:
Required: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an RN, with at least 1 year in an ICU setting.

Skills:
Required: Proficiency in patient care and communication equipment; adaptability to healthcare technology changes.

Knowledge:
Required: Familiarity with the Nurse Practice Act.

Technology:
Required: Basic computer skills and flexibility to work various shifts.
