New York, New York, United States RWE AG Full time
RWE AG is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Renewable Energy Financial Manager to join our Projects & Investments North America team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and steering financial and finance-related workstreams within a project from lease auction through offtake bid to final investment decision to commissioning.

In this role, you will oversee the valuation workstream and assist with management within the project, including controlling/FP&A, commercial, risk management, legal, procurement, accounting, and tax. You will also be responsible for the business case process, including planning and coordination of financial business case updates, and ensuring that the level of detail of the business case is appropriate.

You will derive and challenge credible financial assumptions by benchmarking against other internal and external projects, and own the budgeting process and project cost controls, including cash calls to investors and respective reporting processes. Additionally, you will ensure that appropriate governance principles are followed and deployed by all workstreams.

As a representative of the project from a finance perspective, you will attend steering committees and board meetings, aligning valuation approach and results with executive management and ensuring that the level of effort is fit for purpose. You will also prepare project approval papers, including submissions and review with executive management.

Key responsibilities include identifying opportunities to optimize project returns, ensure bankability, add value to the RWE portfolio, and deliver results as necessary. You will present results and recommendations for approval and ensure the deployment of best practices within the project.

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 4-6 years' minimum experience with a broad finance background and experience, especially on valuation topics, either in managing large-scale projects, especially in renewables, power plant, or hydrogen projects, or banking/working with projects on major financial endeavors.

You will have a university degree in finance, engineering, or economics or similar, and an MBA is preferred. You will have strength in implementing a structured working approach/discipline in a highly engaged project environment, comprehensive analytical and communicational skills, and the ability to present key points of complex topics.

You will also have experience in leading and motivating teams and a "community" mentality and positive personality, knowledge of how to work in and with international groups and cultural differences, and the ability to work both individually and collaboratively within the broader P&I NA team and the associated projects.

Salary for this role is estimated to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.

RWE AG is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.

RWE AG has been the source of energy for millions of people across the globe for 125 years. We are now making all that energy green. This decade alone, we are investing €50 billion into renewables and will be carbon neutral by 2040 - ten years earlier than most other global targets.

Join our renewables specialists, working across the clean energy spectrum to grow our operations to 50 GW by 2030 - with some of the world's largest on and offshore wind farms and industry-leading hydrogen initiatives. We are also considered innovators in solar development, including floating photovoltaics and agri-photovoltaics. Or add your expertise to our supply and trading operations, brokering renewable electricity, green gas, commodities, and CO2 emission allowances from one of our advanced energy trading floors.
