Position Summary:
Langan is in search of a Civil Engineer specializing in Solar Renewable Energy to enhance our national practice. This role is pivotal in supporting the planning, design, and permitting processes for a range of renewable energy initiatives. As part of our rapidly growing Renewable Energy team, you will play a crucial role in driving Langan's ongoing expansion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops planning, design, and permitting documentation for renewable energy land development and infrastructure projects in close collaboration with project personnel utilizing engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.);
  • Leads the preparation and modification of various engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, cost estimates, and designs;
  • Conducts cost calculations and assesses project feasibility based on data analysis;
  • Performs zoning, sustainability, and other feasibility assessments for development projects;
  • Coordinates and conducts field inspection services as required;
  • Drafts and reviews reports, including feasibility studies, stormwater management reports, technical specifications, and utility reports;
  • Collaborates with team members on project tasks and assignments;
  • Undertakes additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degree is advantageous;
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification is required;
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in solar civil land development engineering;
  • Familiarity with local land-use processes and regulations;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, capable of designing land development plans from inception to completion;
  • Expertise in site design, stormwater management, grading, earthwork calculations, utility design, and erosion control;
  • Competence in hydraulic and hydrological calculations to support land development projects;
  • Practical field experience, particularly in construction observation, geotechnical testing, and land surveying is a plus;
  • Experience with stormwater design and permitting processes;
  • Ability to occasionally assist with other discipline projects;
  • Active involvement in local professional organizations is beneficial;
  • Willingness to undertake field assignments to support land development projects;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
  • Availability for a Monday through Friday work schedule with occasional evenings.
