Position Overview:

This role is focused on providing engineering assistance as a CNC Programmer. Candidates with experience in MASTERCAM software are preferred.

Work Schedule:

Onsite position with a flexible day shift schedule, requiring 40 hours per week, with potential for overtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and adjust CNC programming for various production machinery.
  • Conduct setups and validate programs on CNC Mills, Wire EDM Machines, and lathes.
  • Interpret GD&T and analyze engineering drawings, CAD files, and technical documentation.
  • Create or assess machining process plans, ensuring efficient task execution.
  • Review documents and sketches to determine fabrication processes for prototypes and production assemblies.
  • Support the manufacturing floor by resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Estimate labor for machining and sheet metal fabrication tasks.
  • Implement and maintain statistical process controls.
  • Provide manufacturing capability assessments and labor estimates.
  • Assist or train Machine Shop personnel in the operation of multi-axis CNC equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation.
  • Experience with MASTERCAM and Pro-E (Creo) or similar CAD/CAM software.
  • Two years of experience with quality systems and processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of machining various materials, including metals and plastics.
  • Strong understanding of cutting tools and the ability to calculate appropriate speeds and feed rates.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with SAP or similar ERP software is advantageous.
  • Experience in generating CNC programs with MASTERCAM and Pro-E (Creo).
  • Familiarity with data management systems.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential.
  • Ability to convey technical information effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for managing challenging discussions.

Security Requirements:

Must meet the criteria necessary for obtaining a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
