**Job Title:** Biological Anthropology Professorship Opportunity

**Company Overview:** The University of Miami invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Biological Anthropology to begin in August 2025. Our department is committed to a robust four-field approach and interdisciplinarity, with research interests in forensics, primatology, and human evolution.

**Estimated Salary:** $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

**Job Description:** We seek an anthropologist with research expertise in skeletal biology, evolutionary biology, DNA analysis, functional morphology, mass disaster identification, and human rights investigation. The successful applicant will have an established record of original research, funding, teaching, and publication, with a clear framework for continued progress in these areas. They will be expected to teach two courses per semester at the introductory, advanced undergraduate, and graduate levels, develop additional classes, perform undergraduate and graduate advising, and supervise student research.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Teach introductory, advanced undergraduate, and graduate-level courses in Biological Anthropology
  • Develop and teach new courses in the field
  • Advise undergraduate and graduate students
  • Supervise student research projects
The ideal candidate will commit to teaching a field school and contribute to the development of our undergraduate and graduate curricula. Other duties include departmental and university-level service on committees, working groups, etc., as directed by the Chair.

**Required Skills and Qualifications:**
  • Ph.D. in Anthropology or a related field
  • Established record of original research, funding, teaching, and publication
  • Clear framework for continued progress in research and teaching
