About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Skin and Aesthetics Centers. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care and a positive experience during their office visit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff, including administrative and clinical assignments.
  • Handle all duties in a timely manner, prioritizing tasks to ensure seamless operations.
  • Supply ordering and inventory management to maintain a well-stocked medical facility.
  • Obtain and update complete patient histories and chief complaints, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Greet incoming patients and escort them to exam rooms, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Check for any outstanding biopsies, bloodwork, and other critical tests, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with patients.
  • Assist providers with medical and cosmetic procedures, providing support and ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Provide and reinforce patient education following procedures and office visits, promoting informed decision-making and patient empowerment.
  • Set up for select procedures, including biopsies and surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Perform dressing changes, suture removal, and other procedures as needed, demonstrating competency and adhering to established protocols.
  • Complete pathology requisition forms with complete and updated patient information, ensuring accurate and timely communication with laboratories.
  • Maintain a daily log of biopsies and cultures performed by each provider, tracking and analyzing data to inform quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate accounts of specimens and record on cover sheets of lab bags, ensuring secure and efficient handling of patient samples.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Clean, organize, and supply patient rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable space for patients.
  • Dispose of garbage and medical waste material, adhering to established protocols and regulations.
  • Review and follow posted OSHA instructions and requirements, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or related fields required.
  • Dermatology experience preferred, but not required; training for medical and surgical procedures will be provided upon hiring.
  • Customer service experience preferred, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient care and satisfaction.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred, with documentation required for verification.
  • Ability to work well with providers to anticipate and support their needs, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional patient care.
  • Familiarity with medical billing procedures, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills, with a focus on prioritizing tasks and ensuring timely completion.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
