About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team at Skin and Aesthetic Centers. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff, including preparing patients for exams and procedures, taking vital signs, and assisting with medical procedures.
  • Handle all duties in a timely and efficient manner, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and ensure smooth operations.
  • Supply ordering and inventory management to maintain a well-stocked and organized medical facility.
  • Obtain and update complete patient histories and chief complaints, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Greet incoming patients and escort them to exam rooms, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Check for any outstanding biopsies, bloodwork, and other medical tests, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with patients.
  • Assist providers with medical and cosmetic procedures, including preparing equipment and supplies.
  • Provide and reinforce patient education following procedures and office visits, ensuring patients understand their treatment plans and next steps.
  • Set up for select procedures, including biopsies and surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
  • Perform dressing changes, suture removal, and other medical procedures as needed, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Complete pathology requisition forms with complete and updated patient information, ensuring accurate and timely communication with laboratories.
  • Maintain a daily log of biopsies and cultures performed by each provider, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Maintain an accurate account of specimens and record on cover sheets of lab bags, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Clean, organize, and supply patient rooms, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable experience for patients.
  • Dispose of garbage and medical waste material, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Review and follow posted OSHA instructions and requirements, including hazardous waste, needle stick injuries, emergency evacuations, and other critical protocols.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields required.
  • Dermatology experience is preferred, but not required for the position. Training for medical and surgical procedures will be provided upon hiring.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred (will need to provide documentation).
  • Ability to work well with providers to anticipate and support their needs.
  • Familiarity with medical billing procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong organizational skills are a must.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
