IT Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Disaster Recovery and Continuity of Operations Specialist to join our team at Battelle Energy Alliance. As a key member of our Information Technology department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive IT disaster recovery and business continuity program that ensures the resilience and rapid recovery of our IT systems and operations in the event of a disaster.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Maintain IT Disaster Recovery Plans: Create and update comprehensive IT disaster recovery plans that outline procedures for responding to and recovering from IT-related disasters.
- Conduct Risk Assessments and Business Impact Analyses: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in our IT systems and operations, and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Coordinate with IT and Business Departments: Work closely with IT and business departments to ensure that disaster recovery plans are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
- Design and Implement Disaster Recovery Solutions: Develop and implement disaster recovery solutions that meet recovery point objectives (RPOs) and recovery time objectives (RTOs).
- Test and Evaluate Disaster Recovery Procedures: Organize and manage regular testing of disaster recovery procedures to ensure their effectiveness and readiness.
- Communicate with Stakeholders: Serve as a primary point of contact during a disaster, coordinating response efforts and communicating status updates to relevant parties.
- Manage Disaster Recovery Budget and Resources: Oversee the disaster recovery budget and resources, including vendor relationships and contracts.
- Report to Senior Management: Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status and effectiveness of the disaster recovery program.
- Bachelor's Degree and 9 Years of Experience: A bachelor's degree and 9 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 6 years of experience, or 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- IT Disaster Recovery Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT disaster recovery planning, implementation, and testing.
- IT Infrastructure Experience: Experience with IT infrastructure, data center operations, and cloud services.
- Industry Standards and Best Practices: Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in business continuity and IT disaster recovery, such as ISO 22301 and ITIL.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Experience developing and managing comprehensive disaster recovery plans.
