Job Summary

The Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program. The nurse must demonstrate initiative, knowledge, and clinical skills to provide comprehensive treatment strategies and achieve positive outcomes for individual participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate Individualized Treatment Plans in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the Cardiac Rehabilitation team.
  • Assess patients' modifiable risk factors and offer support and strategies for successful therapeutic lifestyle changes.
  • Supervise exercise sessions, monitor participants' responses, and adjust individual exercise prescriptions as needed.
  • Develop and present educational programs and materials for patients and families on cardiac procedures, tests, surgeries, medications, risk factors, and nutrition.
  • Manage urgent/emergent clinical issues and report significant changes in condition to the referring physician.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure and Certification in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support required.
  • Cardiac Intensive Care, other intensive care, or cardiac rehabilitation experience desired.
