Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct natural resource assessments, including wetland delineations, functional evaluations, soil mapping, wildlife habitat assessments, vernal pool evaluations, and rare species surveys.
  • Oversee scientific environmental analyses, natural resource studies, and permitting tasks for complex projects.
  • Manage the preparation of federal, state, and local environmental permit applications, as well as environmental impact statements and assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations during project construction through monitoring and inspection reporting.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients regarding project status and any significant developments.
  • Represent projects in meetings with regulatory agencies and local authorities.
  • Identify client needs and supervise the preparation of specifications and related documentation.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Establish project budgets and monitor progress to ensure adherence to technical and scheduling requirements.
  • Prepare proposals and contracts, including plans, specifications, cost estimates, and final bid packages.

Required Skills and Attributes:

  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal wetland regulations and environmental permitting processes.
  • Strong project and client relationship management skills, with a focus on collaborative problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality in all aspects of work.
  • Highly motivated team player with the ability to inspire and lead others.
  • Proven experience in managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Familiarity with identifying northeast plant species, soils, and natural communities.

Qualifications:

  • 8-11 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, with a minimum of 2 years in energy projects and environmental permitting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Soil Science, or a related field is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred and may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as NH Certified Wetland Scientist, Certified Soil Scientist, or Certified Professional in Sediment and Erosion Control are advantageous, or the ability to obtain such certifications within one year.
  • OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification is a plus.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
