Position Overview:
Join Serco North America as a Roadway Incident Management Specialist.
Serco collaborates with transportation authorities to operate a vital incident response program aimed at reducing traffic delays and enhancing roadway safety by swiftly addressing disabled vehicles and debris on highways, as well as providing essential traffic management and scene safety during incidents.
As part of our dedicated team, you will engage daily with transportation officials, local law enforcement, and emergency responders.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Roadway Incident Management Specialist, your duties will include:
- Monitoring surveillance feeds to identify and confirm accidents, debris, abandoned vehicles, and hazardous materials.
- Coordinating and communicating with incident response personnel via radio or telephone, following established protocols to direct them to the scene of incidents, ensuring accurate information is relayed.
- Documenting potential and confirmed incidents, as well as construction and maintenance closures using advanced software systems.
- Providing assistance and information to motorists, transportation personnel, and other agencies regarding traffic conditions; directing inquiries to the appropriate departments or taking necessary actions.
- Maintaining precise records, including logging essential information, conducting equipment checks, gathering data, and updating manuals and contact lists with relevant details.
- Completing initial and ongoing training programs under the guidance of the Training Supervisor and Program Manager.
Qualifications:
To excel in this position, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of six months of customer service or related experience within the past three years.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Proficiency in English (fluency in Spanish is an advantage).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
