Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Children's National Hospital. This is a travel allied position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing respiratory care to patients in various settings, including critical care units and pediatric wards. They will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed by physicians
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and analyze results to diagnose and manage respiratory disorders
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and communication
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
  • Current certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Experience working in a hospital setting, preferably in pediatric or critical care units
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments
